Celebration of Learning Journey
When doing my Art Sculpture for the Celebration of Learning, I was excited by the idea of doing octopus tentacles. My partner and I planned on how we would make the octopus tentacles high enough as 1.5 centimeters and figure out how to do the swirl. When we were doing our bases and blueprint for the sculpture, we found some difficulties in the process. Our main problem was ‘how will we make it high enough?’ and on how to make the sculpture steady enough for the swirling. We solved this problem by doing more thick layers of rolled up magazines and squeezing magazines in between gaps for the swirl to stay up and to stay steady when carrying.
When the due date was coming, we were worried more and more about the height and how we would do it during class time. My partner had a suggestion where we two will work during our free time; including: our lunchtime and our time after school!
At the end of the due date, we were relieved that we could do it in time and positive that our sculpture is steady enough for the Celebration of Learning.
What I think we could improve on the sculpture is that there would be walls for the base and that we could have improved on the equality on the octopus tentacles.
The day before the Celebration, I decided not to come because I wanted to do other work for my classes during the meantime and have some time for myself after that week of hard-work. But the choice was not easy, one of my sides told me to go to the Celebration of Learning to look at my friend’s and others' work! But my other side told me that I needed to finish some homework before the Winter Break. But in the end, it all went well and the stress on my shoulders has gone.

Behind the Arts
Hello everyone! Here, I will take you behind the scenes of my digital arts!
What I first started for my Independent Project were comic cover titles on digital. My comic cover titles were focused more on my comic series of Adventurous Potatoes. My first comic title I began with was named Dimension 101.
A quick summary of the Dimension 101 is the main protagonist, Pogo, and his three friends Mojo, Mimi and Nini exploring the past and going into the future from his very own wish come true dimension.
The summary of the Dimension 101: Pogo was excited to explore the past and the future once he entered the portal. But he does not want to go alone. Who will he take?
I have also made many other comic cover titles that were inspired by old comics I have made in the past and inspired by my characters’ backstory.
Behind the scenes of creating the comic title covers does not take too long. I first did some sketching and planning on where to put the characters. I then added flat colors for the characters and backgrounds.

Humanizing Animal Crossing
The second process throughout my Independent Project was humanizing characters from a nintendo game named ‘Animal Crossing: New Horizons’, and I was inspired by that game if it wasn’t so obvious enough and their personality/references. The characters that I decided to draw were 7 resident characters named Tammy, Benjamin, Stitches, Curly, Stella, Flora and Cephalobot!
I first started on finding a good reference and sketching out the ideas for the final line art. Added in some flat colors, gradient, details and added a simple background. For the final part I clipped a picture onto the shape behind my drawing and added the names of the Animal Crossing characters.

My Media Project
This VAM project I did is about a boy escaping from reality and into his own world on the internet. Looking at photos of "happy" families and searching for proper information on how to runaway from his home. Behind him is his parents arguing. Not wanting any part of it, the boy looks at his phone. Around him is gloom and dark, symboling that his reality is dark and harsh, and the colorful popups from the phone is his dream to be in a life full of colors and happiness. Escaping from reality.
When I heard about the media project, i was quite excited to work on it and chose to make my drawing about escaping from reality. Because I know that there are homes that are horrible and full of gloom and many people use the internet and media's to escape from it. It took me 2 days, but what I struggled with was the body anatomy. But after that, the process was quick.
